What is Professional Delivery?
At Livewell we understand that sometimes it can be difficult to accept larger deliveries, particularly for things like mobility scooters and adjustable beds. Even our lightest travel mobility scooters such as the Jaunt Mobility Scooter can weigh nearly 50kg in its original box! To try and help with this, we have partnered with Healthcare Distribution Direct (HDD), one of the UK’s largest home delivery firms who specialise in supplying mobility equipment and furniture. Using HDD, our Professional Assembly service includes delivery and assembly of your chosen product with the added benefit of a demonstration of how to use the product.
Available throughout mainland UK*, this service is designed to ultimately get your product to you in the safest way possible, removing the added hassle of accepting a courier delivery and setting up the product yourself. We offer a delivery and assembly service on all our mobility scooters, electric wheelchairs, riser recliner chairs and adjustable beds. The delivery time can vary depending on your location however our commitment is to have your product with you within 7-10 working days, sometimes sooner! Depending on what time you place your order, the first working day can often start the day after you complete your order. This is so we can allow time to get your product quality checked before supplying your product to HDD. Don’t worry though, we keep you fully updated throughout the process to ensure you are aware of the final delivery details.
Placing your order
Once you have decided on the product you would like to order, simply head over to the checkout section where you will be offered our Professional Assembly service as part of placing your order. Alternatively, you can call our freephone number and speak to one of our UK-based advisors who will happily talk through your requirements and place the order on your behalf. In addition, we also offer a removal service as part of your assembly service. This can be particularly helpful for when you need to remove an old bed or chair to make room for your new furniture, though we do also offer it for mobility scooters and electric wheelchairs. We will carry out the removal of goods at the same time as delivering your new product, helping to provide a seamless service. If you do not wish to use our own removal service then please do not remove the existing product before you have accepted delivery of your new product.**
Checking your access
After you have completed your order, you will receive a confirmation email containing all your order details. If you haven’t already done so, please ensure that you have both sufficient street access and internal door/stairs access within the property to ensure that your product can delivered safely. We do try and provide as much information as possible online, but it is your responsibility to ensure there is adequate access upon delivery - re-attempted deliveries will be charged at the original cost. Returning your order
Following your order confirmation, you should next receive a telephone call directly from HDD within 48 hours of completing your order to check your delivery details and confirm that your order is on the system. This can sometimes be longer if you have placed your order over the weekend so please don’t worry if you haven’t had a call straight away. HDD deliver all over the country and are planning routes daily so it can often take 3-5 working days to plan your delivery date. At this point HDD will contact you to confirm the delivery date and estimated time, often morning or afternoon, to ensure that you are available to accept delivery, usually 48 hours in advance. If the expected delivery date or time is not convenient then please do inform HDD, however this could extend your expected delivery date by several days.
Accepting your delivery
On the actual day of delivery, your personal HDD drivers will call you an hour before delivery to update you on their expected arrival time. Once at your address, the team will unload your product and bring it into the room of your choice for inspection. To save time and space, HDD often pre-assemble products before loading onto their delivery vehicles – please do not worry, your product is brand new and was physically unboxed and assembled less than 24 hours prior to your delivery. One of the technicians will then complete a final quality check before providing you with a demonstration of the product. This includes general training on how to control it, how it adjusts, how to care for it, but if you do have any additional questions then please just ask one of the technicians. Once you are happy with the product and assembly service, you will be asked to sign for the product where you can add any additional comments about our service.
Points to consider
* This service is not available in Ireland, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Scottish Highlands or Isles. Postcodes include HS, IV, KA, KW, PA, PH, ZE, BT, IM, PO30-41 and TR21-TR25. We can deliver directly to any of these areas, for an additional charge, using one of our alternative national couriers however this will be a drop delivery to the street address, not an assembly service.
** Occasionally things can go wrong with deliveries on the day, such as vehicle issues, motorway closures, or driver sickness. For this reason, we always recommend that you dispose of any old unwanted products after you have received your new order. This is to avoid a situation where you are without the old and new product which can heavily reduce your mobility and independence. We cannot be held liable for any additional costs that arise from this such as short-term bed rental or hotel accommodation costs.
